An Update

If you have kept up with our family over the last 12 months or so, you’ve noticed we’ve been going through lots of transitions and made some pretty big changes. We feel that all of these changes are ultimately leading us away from the US of A and into lands unknown (to us) to love on people and show them God’s great love by serving them and meeting their needs as we are able. If this sounds vague to you, that’s because it’s still very vague to us. The first little bit of clarity we’ve had has been with our acceptance into the internship program with Ibero-American Ministries (IAM). The likelihood that we will possibly be moving out of the country in the not too distant future has caused us to take a hard look at our commitments and begin to downsize.

As we begin preparing for and moving into this next chapter in our life, we have decided that we need to put Genesis Ann Photography on hold. Mike and I truly enjoy doing photography together. For us, GAP has been a respite and time away together, and it is with difficulty that we reach this decision. While we love this portion of our life, we feel that building a business and attempting to maintain a client base while at the same planning to move to another country is counter productive. We are uncertain how long our stay out of country will last, or even the exact dates of our departure, however, upon our return stateside we hope to reevaluate and begin the process of rebuilding GAP.

With this in mind, we will continue to accept Family Photo Session clients at a discounted rate through October 11, 2014 in order to help us raise the needed funds for our 10 day trip to Chile at the beginning on November. This trip will be taken in conjunction with our church and will hopefully help clear the way for a longer term trip that will potentially begin in early to mid-2015.

We are so thankful for your trust in us to capture your memories over the last four years. What started out as a simple hobby blossomed into something we never would have imagined, and we are fortunate to have had such a wonderful and loving client base.

If you would like to keep up on what happens with our family, we will be posting updates to our personal blog, and photos will always be available on Instagram. If you or a family you know would be interested in family photos before October 11, or if you have specific questions about what in the world we’re doing, please feel free to contact us directly.

With warmest regards,
Mike and Genesis Wheeler
