Josh & Jen - Baby on the way!

Last November I made a quick stop by my friend Jen's house to drop off some pictures from her fall mini-session. She had a huge smile on her face when she said, "By the way ... we're pregnant!"
There is something so magical about a first pregnancy and capturing that magic with a camera is such a special job. I am so thankful that we were able to be there to document this time for Josh and Jen. They are the kind of people you really want to be friends with - they smile a lot, laugh easily and are so kind and generous. So generous in fact that on Easter when my children noticed a few untouched eggs under their bushes, Jen graciously allowed my kids to finish off the hunt! According to my kids, Josh and Jen are the coolest people on the planet!

The weather for our photo shoot was perfect - we had hoped for a more dramatic sunset, but in all honesty we were thankful for no rain and what we ended up with was amazing. Jen is absolutely radiant - she was before pregnancy, but her excitement and enjoyment over the life growing in her is obvious. And Josh looks at her like he just cannot get enough of her. They are truly amazing.

Mike and I did quite a few photos for them in our normal style, but we also tried a few new tricks we've been practicing with off-camera lighting that we are hoping to incorporate into more of our weddings and photo sessions. We are really happy with the results from both styles and when Jen told me she was "obsessed" with one of the photos we knew they were just as thrilled.
