A confession ... and a giveaway!
Recently my book nerd-ery reached epic heights when I reached out to one of my favorite jewelers and asked if she'd be able to create a necklace based on my most recent favorite book series. Yes ... you read that right. I loved these books so much I needed a piece of jewelry to wear - all the time - so I could always have a piece of the book with me. Jenny from Viper Corara Designs has been such a support to our photography business from the beginning. In the Fall she donated necklaces and earrings for each woman who participated in our boudoir fundraising event. They were a hit - each lady loved the pieces she received. I knew when it came to my own jewelry I could trust her to create something unique and beautiful.
Jenny did not disappoint. When she gave me the necklace it was everything I wanted and then some. Because I'm a closet book nerd (at least, I was until now!) I wanted something understated and simple. I also wanted something vague - if someone also loved these books she'd be able to look at my necklace and know exactly what it meant. But if you hadn't read the books you would simply see it as the awesome piece of jewelry that it is.
Isn't it beautiful? Exactly what I'd been hoping for.

Friends ... I loved The Hunger Games series this much. I am the nerdiest of book nerds and I'm proudly embracing it! If you're wondering, the pieces of the paper inside the reaping ball say
"You love me. Real or not real?"
I tell him, "Real."

I loved The Help, but I'm sure you read that. I'm reading One Thousand Gifts and just also started Radical, by David Platt. I'm also reading Mockingjay :)

Cute necklace, Gen! I love Stephanie Barron's Jane Austen murder mystery series, and am really hoping she comes out with a new book (#12?) soon, since I have read all of them already : ) I also really liked Tasha Alexander's "And Only to Deceive" Lady Emily series, even though I felt book one was the best of them all. But, if you are looking for a nice, long, epic book, my super all-time favorite is "Mary,Called Magdelene" by Margaret George. Love you!
I love Genesis Ann AND I love ViperCorara!! I am ashamed to admit that I don't read much.. except that I started today now that I have no cable... Dana and I are reading the Hunger Games and are really enjoying it. The last time I read something other than some book on childbirth or breastfeeding was the Twilight series.

3 - Picking a favorite book is like picking a favorite child--they're all awesome for different reasons. ;) Some long-time fiction faves are Israel, My Beloved & With An Everlasting Love by Kay Arthur. (People either love Israel, My Beloved or don't get it. I love it.) Also anything by Francine Rivers, especially Redeeming Love & The Mark of the Lion Series. Oh and The Prophet and The Scribe from the Sons of Encouragement series.

I, too, am obsessed with the Hunger Games series and this necklace is BRILLIANT! I love it. "The Help" is a beautiful book and I laughed/cried through the whole thing. The Harry Potter series is also a favorite!

Read The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Amazing!! I am 5 books in and loving it! We hear they are in talks of making movies too!
